Angola: Govt Authorises Concession Rights for Diamond Prospecting in Lacage
The Angolan government recently authorised the concession of rights of diamond prospecting of the Lacage kimberlite, Luacheze district, eastern Moxico province, to the National Diamond Company of Angola (ENDIAMA E.P), in an area of 3,000 square kilometres.
Sotheby’s to Auction 84.37 Carat Brilliant Cut Diamond
Sotheby’s Magnificent Jewels auction, to take place on November 14 in Geneva, will offer a brilliant-cut diamond, weighing 84.37 carats, which estimators have valued at 15-20 million CHF ($13-$17.33 million).
The stones are “ideal cut” a method designed by Marcel Tolkowsky to deliver the most brilliance and fire. The Hearts on Fire stones have a hearts and arrows patter in the cut. If you look at the stone through the bottom using a jeweler’s loupe you see eight hearts. From the top you see eights bursts of fire.
